SA Services

Activities
Your Students’ Association is pleased to provide you with great activities throughout the year. Most of the events are free or a nominal fee is charged to offset costs. Keep you eyes peeled for hysterically funny comedians, fabulous bands and other acts. A great deal of our events take place in the Rattlers Den, your student lounge. There is always something going on, and if you have a awesome idea, stop by the office and let us know.

The Den
The Den is closed for renovations until September 2010. The SA will still be putting on Pub nights and other fun events throughout the year. Check your student handbook for dates or follow us on twitter or facebook or just watch for our promotional posters.

Bulletin Boards
If you want to hang up a poster or notice, stop by our office first and get you poster approved before hanging it up.  Outside organizations must have their posters approved by College Advancement.

Fax Service
We offer a cheap faxing service for our students, the cost is $1.00 per page within Canada/US and $2.00 page for international calls. Local calls are free and to receive a fax at our office is no charge, our fax number is: 403-504-3522. We will hold your fax for one week.

Free Phone
There is a free phone located just outside our office doors, you need to dial 9 before dialing your number. Please remember to limit your calls if others are waiting. The phone does not provide long distance service.

Games
Games are available for students to use in The Den and in the soft seat area.

Lockers
Lockers are available through the Students’ Association office for a small fee. Students are required to supply their own locks. The cost of lockers is $10.00/semester for half size lockers and $15.00/semester for full size lockers. Students who withdraw from College during the college year forfeit their locker fee. The Students’ Association does not accept responsibility for any damage or theft to locker contents. The College reserves the right to open any student locker at any time.

Photocopying
If you need some copies made, stop by our office and our Admin. Asst. would be happy to make some for you.  The cost is 10 cents per page.

Clubs
Stop by the office for more information on how to form a club and pick up all the forms that are required.

Foster Child
The Students’ Association, through Foster Parents Plan of Canada sponsors a needy child in Honduras. For a few dollars per year, we help brighten the present and the future of this incredible child. If you wish to make a donation or write to our foster child, please stop by our office for more information.

Peer Support
Our Peer Support Centre officially opened in October of 1997 and in a short time has become the “gem” of the Students’ Association. We won the acclaimed Bacchus Canada – 1999 – 2000 Campus of the Year Award for Alcohol Education. The greatest priority of the Centre is “peers helping peers.” All of our students are ensured professional service and access to quality resources pertaining to a variety of societal issues. If you are interested in becoming a Peer Supporter, stop by our temporary office (Poundmaker Room) or call 529-3927.
